Peill & Putzler was a renowned German glassworks and lighting manufacturer celebrated for its elegant mid-century modern designs and high-quality craftsmanship. Originally founded as “Peill und Sohn” in Düren, Germany, in 1903, the company later merged with the Putzler glassworks in 1947 to form Peill & Putzler Glashüttenwerke. The brand became internationally recognised for its innovative lighting and decorative glassware, collaborating with influential designers such as Wilhelm Wagenfeld and other Bauhaus-inspired creatives. Their pieces, characterised by sculptural forms, textured glass, and minimalist aesthetics, remain highly collectable today and are featured in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Although the original company ceased production in the 1990s, the Peill & Putzler name remains associated with timeless German design and premium glass lighting.
