William Plunkett ’Reigate’ Rocking Chair, 1964

For sale a super stylish vintage William Plunkett “Reigate” rocking lounge chair, designed in 1964 and made by William Plunkett Ltd.

A fine example of the best of British design, perfectly merging form, modern materials and precision engineering to create something unique, sculptural and timeless.

This award winning chair, consisting of polished anodised aluminium alloy seat & backrest supports, mounted on a steel frame finished in dark grey nylon coating, is perfectly balanced both visually and for seating comfort.

The chair is in excellent vintage condition, with minor age related wear, commensurate with 50+ years of careful use. The webbing looks like it may have been replaced at some stage in the chair’s history, the upholstery still looks good despite it’s age and the frame is damage & rust free.
