For sale is a wonderful pair of Italian mid-century, Space-Age “ARCO” Coat Hooks designed by Luigi Caramella for Italian company Con&Con in the 1970s.

This colourful pair are in superb vintage condition, with only minor marks & scratches commensurate with age and careful use. Both hangers come with their original mounting plates, which are clean and in great condition.

The “Arco” coat hook features a sleek, curved design crafted from ABS plastic, embodying the minimalist and futuristic style characteristic of the Space-Age movement. Produced in various colours, including white, cream, yellow, blue, and red, the hook offers versatility in interior decor. Its simple yet ingenious metal mounting system allows for easy wall installation, providing both functionality and a touch of retro-futuristic charm to any space.

Luigi Caramella, an Italian designer active in the 1970s, is renowned for his innovative contributions to Space-Age design, particularly through his collaboration with the company Con&Con. Caramella’s work with Con&Con, including the “Arco” coat hook, remains a testament to the innovative spirit of Italian design in the 1970s, blending form and function in a way that continues to be celebrated by design enthusiasts today and exemplifies the era’s distinctive aesthetic.
