Year : 2021

A unique, handmade resin ice lolly sculpture by MISS BUGS, titled “Echo Chamber”, from the Do No Harm series. This striking, sculptural piece features encapsulated surgical blades and is mounted on a Jesmonite marble plinth. It comes in its original DO NO HARM SL22 packaging and was produced for the JEALOUS X SAATCHI exhibition in 2021. The work is from an unknown, but limited edition.

The Jealous Gallery, which represents Miss Bugs, partnered with the Saatchi Gallery in 2021 to present the exhibition ‘Right Here Right Now’. The show featured new & recent works by emerging and established artists, including Miss Bugs, Jake & Dinos Chapman and David Shrigley, amongst others. Whilst working on their Saatchi ‘Lolly Specimen Cabinets’ installation (see the last photo), Miss Bugs did a few extra rounds of Lolly castings to give themselves a choice for the final work. A small number of these unique lollies that didn’t make it into the installation were offered for sale, of which this is one.

The work comes with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, is in good, undamaged condition and is sold with its original packaging and plinth. This particular Lolly is extensively featured on the artist’s website and Social Media.

About Miss Bugs:
Miss Bugs is a British street artist duo known for their striking mixed-media works that blend pop culture, surrealism, and social commentary. Their art often incorporates bold colours, fragmented imagery, and intricate resin layering techniques, where objects, prints, and found materials are encased in glossy resin to create a sense of depth and distortion. This signature approach challenges perceptions of identity and consumerism while making their work both visually immersive and conceptually engaging. By reinterpreting well-known figures from art history, comics, and advertising, Miss Bugs critiques the commodification of contemporary culture. Their works, which appear both in galleries and urban environments, push the boundaries between fine art and street art, making them a distinctive and thought-provoking presence in the modern art scene.

The title, ‘Do No Harm,’ comes from the Hippocratic Oath—an oath doctors take to uphold ethical standards in their practice with patients. In the context of this exhibition, though, it’s ironic. The sweetness on the outside hides the sickness within.
