Country : Sweden
Designer : Marianne + Knut Hagberg

For sale is this wonderful Model “LÖV” (or ‘Love’) Wall / Table Lamp, designed by the prolific Swedish sibling duo, Marianne and Knut Hagberg, for Ikea in 2003.

This unusual lamp is hard to come by, was never sold in the USA and has quickly become an Ikea collectable, partly due to the low runs but mainly because of its wonderfully playful and bold design. The design consists of a cocoon-shaped body, raised on four pointy feet with the back foot doubling up as the on/off switch. Pressing the rear top side of the lamp switches the light on and off. The lamp can either be used as a table lamp or it can be wall-mounted using the mounting hole on the back.

Hagberg + Hagberg, now retired, are a brother and sister multi-award-winning Swedish design partnership, who for over 40 years, have been responsible for some of the most iconic contemporary designs, enjoyed by millions across the globe. Designing primarily for Ikea, Marianne and Knut were always guided by the principles of Democratic Design: function, form, quality, sustainability and all for an affordable price. One of their most recognisable and iconic designs is the blue (and yellow) IKEA FRAKTA bag (1989), which you can still use and buy in all their stores (1989).
