For sale a stunning Solid Oak GE290 three seater sofa designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Getama Getsted of Denmark in the 1950s.
This original, iconic and much loved sofa, with it’s distinctive broad ‘plank’ armrests are often copied, seldom found and very sought after. The Sofa is solid and firm and in good vintage condition. The old oak has a lovely dark patina and has some age related splits which don’t compromise the structure (see photos for the worst of it). The cushions are new and have been upholstered in a beautiful light grey, thick pure wool fabric. The sofa has “GETAMA GESTED DENMARK, DESIGN HANS J WEGNER” branded to the underside.
